Down Wash
is a wash-in cleaner for waterproof clothing and equipment. It safely revitalises breathability and water-repellency. It is suitable for all feather-filled and/or down clothing and equipment. Always apply Down Wash to used down clothing to keep items in perfect condition. We advise cleaning items with Nikwax Down Wash before proofing them with Nikwax Down Proof.
Down Proof
is a wash-in proofer for down filled gear which adds water-repellency, revives insulation and breathability. It is suitable for all feather-filled and/or down clothing and equipment. Always apply Down Proof to used down clothing to keep items in perfect condition.

How to apply...
Tech Wash
To clothing
1. Place item in washing machine.
2. Apply Nikwax Down Wash in the machine's dispenser.
3. Select a warm wash cycle, start machine and complete rinse cycle.
4. Alternatively, just apply Nikwax in a simple hand wash.
5. Drip-dry or tumble dry on a low setting if the care label allows.
To equipment
1. For sleeping bags immerse item(s) in hand hot water in a bowl or bath tub.
2. Apply by hand, agitate and leave to soak for 5 to 10 minutes.
3. Rinse under running water, drain and gently press the sleeping bag to expel excess water.
4. To dry, and only if care label allows, spin dry 3 times and tumble dry on a high setting until all 'clumps' have disappeared.
5. Use clean tennis balls or trainers (that won't melt) in a clean pillow case to help break up clumps when drying.
Note:
This product can also be applied neat to fabrics as a stain or grease remover prior to washing.
Volume guide (take from label)
To clean clothing use 2 full caps (100ml) in soft water and 3 full caps (150ml) in hard water.
To clean sleeping bags use 3 full caps (150ml) in water (3-4 season down sleeping bags should be professionally cleaned or proofed).
Down Proof
To clothing
1. Place item in a washing machine.
2. Wash with Nikwax Down Wash.
3. Reset the machine and add Nikwax Down Proof in the machine's dispenser.
4. Select a warm wash cycle, and run complete cycle.
5. Alternatively, just apply Nikwax in a simple hand wash.
6. To dry, and only if care label allows, spin dry 3 times and tumble dry on a high setting until all 'clumps' have disappeared.
7. Use clean tennis balls or trainers (that won't melt) in a clean pullow case to help break up clumps when drying.

You should be able to wash reproofed garments 6 to 8 times with Nikwax Down Wash before it requires reproofing with Nikwax Down Proof.

Always apply this product to used down / feather-filled clothing or accessories to keep items in perfect water-repellent condition. Remember to clean gear first with Nikwax Down Wash before applying Nikwax Down Proof.
Remember you don't have to wait to dry between cleaning and re-proofing.
