Hycote Primers
Hycote Primers are designed to provide a tough, durable and receptive surface for Hycote paints of standard gloss, satin and matt finishes, and matched colour paints. These Primers are designed to be compatible with most automotive finishes including acrylics, cellulose, alkyds and polyurethanes.

Directions for Use
Prepare the area to be treated, ensuring freedom from dust, grime, traffic film, greases, oils etc, using a detergent solution followed by rinsing thoroughly and drying. Rust, other surface contamination, and loosely adhering matter should be removed using an appropriate grade of wet and dry abrasive cloth.
If in doubt about the composition of the substrate, undertake a small test application on an inconspicuous area prior to use to ensure suitability. Shake the can thoroughly for at least two minutes. Repeat shaking at regular intervals during use. Apply sparingly from a distance of 20 – 25cm. Apply 2 to 3 coats as necessary to achieve total and even coverage, leaving at least 15 minutes between each application. Allow at least 24 hours between application of final coating and preparation for any subsequent finishes that may be required.
On completion of use, invert can and depress actuator for a few seconds to prevent nozzle blockage.
CROSS HATCH TEST
In this test, the paint film is cut in a cross pattern before pressure sensitive tape is applied. The tape is removed rapidly to assess adhesion of the paint to the substrate. The more the paint detaches from the surface of the substrate, the worse the level of adhesion.
