    Description

    Indian Stick Insects (Carausius morosus)
Indian Stick Insects vary in shades of colour from dull green to brown, and are distinguished by red marks on the inside of their forelegs and are flashed at potential predators to keep them at bay.
They imitate twigs and drop to the ground when disturbed. Once the threat has passed the Indian stick insect will stand up and sway like a twig being blown in the breeze. They are a manageable size with adults growing to around four inches in length.

Insect Lore: Making Nature Come Alive
    Your Kit Comes With Eggs!
This Insect Lore Twig Kit set comes with live Stick Insect Eggs - they can start hatching from arrival and up to two months later, so some patience is required!
When your living twigs hatch from eggs, feed them fresh bramble leaves, privet or ivy (not included). Watch them moult and grow into adult Indian Stick insects in the 30cm hatching habitat.
The expected lifespan of the Stick Insects is around 12 months and they will start laying eggs once they reach maturity at around 4-5 months old, so you can raise a whole new generation if you wish!
