Everything started with Ryan McFarland, who tried to pass on this passion to his children and then discovered that there was no ideal solution. Even the most talented junior racers struggled on the bikes that were available at the time in the US. All the bikes he bought were either too big, too heavy or too complicated to operate. In addition, not one of the models was capable of developing the feeling of holding the balance. In all this, he ended up spending a lot of money on children's bicycles without finding the right one.
What followed can be described as the typical success story of an entrepreneur. Ryan McFarland decided it was time to develop the perfect bike for the age group of two- to six-year-olds. He started with a garage start-up in South Dakota and within a short time he managed to turn a start-up into a globally operating company that now collaborates with well-known brands such as Harley-Davidson and KTM. It developed over the years, what Ryan McFarland had hoped for: a STRIDER community supported by parents and children.
STRIDER holds exclusive racing events where kids can show off their skills on STRIDER bikes and parents have fun sharing and celebrating their little racers. The right mix of leisure and competition events - the latter is called STRIDER Cup - strengthens the community and stimulates the continuous development of these products.

Balance Training is the Focus
The STRIDER 12-inch Sport bike is suitable for even the smallest racers aged 6 months and over, thanks to the optional Rocking Base, which allows kids to sit on the children's seat, swinging their legs and practice balancing. And you do not have to reinvent the (riding) wheel - we've already done that! With the STRIDER 12 inch Sport you can prepare small adventurers with the same bike. Just remove the bike from the base and add the wheels. The kids will be able to push themselves with their legs holding on to the handlebars, a movement similar to the "proper" cycling: perfect for all children.
