TP4056 Mini USB 5V 1A 18650 Lithium 3.7 V Li-Ion Battery Charging Board Module
is perfect for charging single cells 3.7 V 1 Ah or higher LiPo cells such as 16550s that don't have their own protection circuit.
Based around the TP4056 charger IC and DW01 battery protection IC this module will offer 1A charge current then cut off when finished. It is a complete constant-current/constant-voltage linear charger for single cell lithium-ion batteries.
Its SOP package and low external component count make the TP4056 ideally suited for portable applications.
Works within USB and wall adapter, and due to the internal PMOSFET architecture, no blocking diode is required.
Thermal feedback regulates the charge current to limit the temperature during high power operation or high ambient temperature.
The charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and the charge current can be programmed externally with a single resistor.
The TP4056 automatically terminates the charge cycle when the charge current drops to 1/10th of the programmed value after the final float voltage is reached.
Other features include current monitor, under voltage lockout, automatic recharge and two status pin to indicate charge termination and the presence of an input voltage
It also offers Trickle charge (battery reconditioning)
- if the voltage level of the connected battery is less that 2.9V, the module will use a trickle charge current of 130mA until the battery voltage reaches 2.9V, at which the charge current will be linearly increased to the configures charge current.
Furthermore, the protection IC protects against over-voltage and reverse polarity connection (it will usually destroy itself instead of the battery), however please check you have it connected correctly the first time.
