Maps are hidden between the cardboard of Jaques Ludo or Snakes and Ladders boards; precious currency is secreted, tightly furled in the wooden handle of a cleverly split Jaques Lacing Awl, Even the pegs of Jaques' Deck Quoits are hollowed out so that a tiny working compass can be hidden in them.

Our History
In 1795 The company was established by a country boy named Thomas a farmer’s son. The first of an unbroken line of eight generations to make indoor and outdoor games.In 1851 John Jaques II wins a place in sporting history and a Gold Medal for introducing Croquet into England at the Great Exhibition of 1851.More than 200 years on, the 7th generation of the Jaques family look with confidence to the future, knowing they continue to be in a unique position to teach the world to play.

Jaques today remains a family company, owned and operated by direct descents of the founder John Jaques.
Many of our games are lovingly crafted by hand in our UK based workshop.
