Slowly the reader comes to grips with a new perspective, one of the many things that draw horror and fantasy aficionados. It\'s an experience not found in a linear series with no discernable structure and yet it has much in common with them all. That these authors manage to take the basic concepts of other writers, even Lovecraft, is clear by using it here with skillful dialogue and descriptive vivid language. The combination results in something fresh but recognizable with original touches and ideas...

...while still managing to maintain Lovecraft\'s own distinct style that will draw new and more casual fans to these works through this tale in particular, for the way he tells and paints an ominous narrative that generates anxiety with each twist of events and dialogue in every other word, building a growing suspense and palpability of atmosphere so that the outcome is unanticipated, which ultimately produces a rewarding experience overall.

It may sound too convoluted but as this reader well-knows, those types of readings are necessary to really savor this genre of storytelling, as they can\'t simply expect a series of sequels with identical content that lack novelty. That these readers find new authors with such unique style is not by chance as they are the chosen few, for Lovecraft, along with so many other talented story-tellers knew their craft was more important than formulas and genre restrictions, leading them to write and speak from the heart through every sentence and in such artistry and style that no one can duplicate that...
